Jazz for the public's enjoyment: a park setting, piano on the stage, and jazz music—represented by the color and texture of Petunias—flowing from the instrument.
Hidden drainage and light fixtures ensure an accessible, usable public setting where the music and beauty take center stage. Stone adds drama, saying "jazz rocks."
The visitor feels drawn in, excited to be entertained by the jazz concert, and curiosity aroused – finding treasures of lit stones underwater, berries that appear ablaze, and lighting that can shift a flower’s color from violet to pink.
Winner of the Gold Medal for Design in Landscapes Under 500 Square Feet.
