Pilastri, piazze e Pompei Two levels of symbolism, one design …
1. New life and new color erupt from the landscape and from the tragedy of Pompei. Pillars return to dominate the architecture and plazas continue to invite people to gather among lush textures and vibrant colors. And always, there is the volcano: an integral part of the life, the lore, and the visual experience … as in the more than 20 Italian landscapes defined by volcanoes. This extraordinary combination of elements inspires the creativity of vertical gardens coupled with the teak piazza and exquisite hot-red highlights throughout.
2. The classic elements of the Italian landscape represent the passion and sensuality of Italy with pillars (masculinity), plazas (femininity) and volcano (heat, as sensual tension erupts). Masculine vertical plants meet fertile plant masses and welcoming plazas, amid ribbons of fire. Red and orange ultimately yield to textures of the ashy aftermath. Visitors experience the excitement and sensuality created by the impact of verticals, the passion of color, and the drama of lighting.
Winner of the Best Achievement in Passionate Landscape Design.
