Baker Creative at the
Philadelphia Flower Show
For the 2nd year running, we are an invited exhibitor at the Philadelphia Flower Show. After winning Flower Show honors and a gold medal from the Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association for last year’s display, we have a high standard to maintain. And we believe we may surpass it! We hope you can attend the show which runs March 2 through 9, and when you do please be sure to stop by our exhibit and say hello.
The Economy and Your Landscape

It has been estimated that a well designed and maintained landscape can add up to 15% to a home’s resale value. Plus, sustainable landscaping techniques can save on costs of energy and upkeep. Opportunities include: choosing a large, deciduous tree (one that loses its leaves in winter) for your southern exposure to shield your home from summer heat while permitting the winter sunshine to offer warmth ... using energy-efficient, low-maintenance LED lighting ... incorporating effective drainage systems to ward off water damage to your home and yard. Simply increasing the garden space and decreasing lawn lowers the chemical and fuel requirements for mowing – as well as the time spent on this chore. LED
Lighting Helps Green a City
Baker Creative has been telling you about our new Visionary Lighting options, singing the praises of LED technology for more sustainable, economical night landscapes designed for beauty and security. As it happens, the entire city of Ann Arbor, Michigan has seen the light. Last year Ann Arbor moved forward on a citywide LED initiative to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and it is on the path to becoming the first U.S. city to light up its downtown with 100% LED technology. At that point, city officials expect to see energy use for public lighting cut in half and a reduction of 2,425 tons of CO2 annually. The city also expects a full return on its investment in just 3.8 years. For more information, read the full article.
