Grass Roots takes root online
We’ve told you before about Grass Roots, the community organization founded by Baker Creative’s president Brad Baker to bring children and families back to horticulture for a greater appreciation of our environment and community. Grass Roots has just launched its own website. We invite you to visit GrassRootsPublicSpace.org.
Three things you need to know for your spring garden
As we head rapidly into the gardening month of May, follow these three tips:
- Already mulched? Stop weeding! If you pull weeds after mulching, you’re only creating more weeds.
- Plant your annuals early this year…it’s already hot, so Mother Nature has moved up the schedule.
- Don’t worry if you see a delay on the north side of your property, compared to the south side. North side plants will bloom much later, as the effects of the deeply frozen ground of this past winter are longer-lasting there.
